    Position Overview:

    The Events and Community Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering fundraising events for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville. This role is essential to the success of fundraising events and community outreach efforts, all of which contribute to the care of families staying at our Ronald McDonald House.

    The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and passionate about serving families in need. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Leading and Coordinating Fundraising Events:

    ·       Plan, organize, and execute fundraising and community events, including, but not limited to, galas, auctions, community walks, and volunteer appreciation activities.

    ·       Oversee all event logistics, including securing venues, coordinating vendors, managing event timelines, and ensuring seamless event production.

    ·       Work closely with the fundraising team to identify event goals and strategies to meet financial and community-building objectives.

    ·       Partner with the volunteers leader to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for events and programs.

    Communication and Marketing Contributions:

    ·       Assist with the promotion and marketing of RMHC events through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, and local media outlets.

    ·       Maintain up-to-date records and data on event participation and success, providing regular reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

    ·       Act as a liaison between RMHC and external stakeholders, including sponsors, donors, and community partners.

    Fundraising Support:

    ·       Assist in identifying, cultivating and stewarding event-related sponsors and donors.

    Administrative Support:

    ·       Maintain accurate event budgets, vendor contracts, and other necessary documentation.

    ·       Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

    Qualifications:

    ·       A passion for the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

    ·       2+ years of experience in event planning, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

    ·       Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

    ·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    ·       Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people, including staff, volunteers, families, and community partners.

    ·       Experience with social media, marketing, and donor relations is a plus.

    ·       Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and work some evenings and weekends as needed for events.

    This position is primarily based at the Ronald McDonald House in Charlottesville, VA, with occasional travel required for off-site events. Flexible work hours are required, including occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate events and program schedules.

  • Family Support Managers are responsible for internal House operations and are the primary contact during their shift for our guests and volunteers. The Manager is responsible for maintaining a home-like and supportive environment, while also maintaining the security of the facility and our guests. The Manager is expected to collaborate with other Family Support Manager team members to fill open shifts as needed, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Job Type: Part-time

    Saturday and Sunday 8AM-4PM, or 4PM-10PM and Thursday evening from 6PM-12AM, or overnights Midnight or 10 pm to 8 am, depending on the night of the week.
