In addition to cash donations, there are many other ways to contribute to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville, all of which are important to us.
The RMHC Donation Boxes at McDonald’s Restaurants
If you visit any of our local McDonald’s Restaurants please consider depositing your change in one of the donation boxes at the counter or the drive-thru. The funds our House receives from these donations sites provides about 7% of our annual revenue. We are so appreciative of the access McDonald’s provides us, through these boxes, to seek donations from their loyal customers.
Hosting your own fun Event to benefit the House
You, your family, and friends can be a powerful fundraising force for the House. Think of something you and your friends like to do, and design an event around it. Yard sales, birthday party donations, pool parties, sporting events – all of these get-togethers can raise awareness and about the House and critical funds for the House. A donation to us of $70, for example, pays our costs to house a family for a night; $500 pays our costs to house a family for a week. That is significant. Just remember, if you plan to use images of the House, the logo, or other materials that might be trademarked, we ask that you please call the House (434.295.1885) for approval before proceeding.
Invite the Executive Director to Speak to your Civic, Church, or Social Group
There is no better way to spread enthusiasm for the mission of the House than to have the Executive Director provide a presentation for your group. If you are interested in doing this, please contact the House (434.295.1885) or email the Executive Director, Rita Ralston, at rralston@rmhcharlottesville.com at least two weeks in advance of your meeting to arrange for her to speak to your group.
